The End.

And what comes next.
The End.
wow, dramatic

It's the end of the school year!!! All my friends are leaving and never coming back!! I'm staying for the summer!! My role at Doulos is changing!!! AHHHHHH!!!!

Okay, I might be being a little dramatic. But in reality, it is the end of the school year, a lot of my friends are leaving, and some of them won't be coming back.

My Dominican roommate, Joel, is moving out and getting married! My other roommate, Tiegan, is ending his gap year at Doulos and heading back to the US for college. And it's not just Tiegan–a bunch of my other co-workers and friends, kindred spirits I've served alongside and grown to love, are moving on from Doulos. It's a very bittersweet season. 😭

But it's not only a season of sad goodbyes, it's also one of exciting new opportunities...

What's Next?

😀
CAMP DISCOVERY: Looking ahead to summer break here in the DR, I get to help with Camp Discovery–a two week camp that Doulos hosts for kids in the community. Every morning kiddos ages 5-11 get to come learn about Jesus and participate in fun activities!
📸
NEW ROLE: In this coming year I will be the motor lab guy only in the morning, and I won't be coordinating worship. In the afternoon I'll be responsible for managing Doulos' social media presence. This means taking pictures, making videos, and showing the whole wide world what God is doing here! Through social media we keep our sponsors in the loop, raise funds for important projects (like the new property), and inspire new missionaries.

This was Tiegan's role, and if you'd like to see what he did, you can check out Doulos' Facebook and Instagram pages!
📖
Outside of working full-time, I'll also begin taking online college courses from Liberty University.

You should know that this coming year my direct interaction with students will be somewhat reduced, and more of my time and energy will be given to developing new skills that will help me serve better in the future, whether at Doulos or anywhere else in the world!

May (& Early June) Photos!

a goodbye party (one of many)

last day of school!

Year 2 is just about in the books! Thank you for bringing smiles to the faces of hundreds of kiddos. Thank you for being instrumental in their physical and spiritual development. Thank you for helping praise and worship ring across campus. Thank you for being a part of this vibrant ministry that God has brought me to. Your prayers and support continue to make a lasting difference.

See you in year 3!
