I totally almost quit...

School is back in session! Our students are back on campus, and my college classes have begun. But you know what hasn't started yet? Wyldlife clubs.

💡
For the past two years, my biggest ministry outside of Doulos has been helping with bi-weekly, evangelism-centered clubs for our middle-schoolers. It's called Wyldlife, and it's very wild (hence the name).

Here's the thing, last month I was just about ready to call up my team and let them know I wasn't going help this year. With my increased workload, commiting to too many things seemed like a bad idea. While I was evaluating this decision, a couple things happened.

First, a student ran up to me and said, "PLEASE be our leader at Wyldlife camp!"

Oooof. I hadn't even mentioned to any students that I was considering not helping out AT ALL this year. And this wasn't even a student I'd invested a whole lot in!

Then, a leaders' retreat came up and I was invited to be a part of it. I figured it would be helpful for my decision-making process—and it included free food—so I decided to go.

At the retreat, I found out that four Doulos high schoolers were joining our team to help lead clubs, which meant I would have the opportunity to serve alongside them and disciple them as well.

Long story short, after some extra prodding from the Holy Spirit, I committed to another year of helping lead clubs and camp!

Here's a photo of my team (minus one):

I could complain about how busy my life is going to be, but Ana, the lady with the glasses, has been a full-time teacher, active in her church, working on her master's degree, and helping with Wyldlife for years, so...

August Highlights

📸
I'm starting to get the hang of my media role at Doulos! If you'd like to see photos and videos I've captured and posted, check out our Facebook or Instagram pages! Everything posted in August and September is my work.

I also keep all the info on our website up to date, which meant taking all these new staff photos of my friends!
😁
I still get to lead motor lab in the mornings, and it's been so fun to watch the new three-year-olds grow! In just a few weeks they've gone from from crying the moment they entered the room (that was hard on my self-esteem) to joyfully launching into their activities for the day!

My landlord hired a guy to climb up his coconut tree and lower down all the coconuts with a rope. It was so cool to watch!! My landlord then proceeded to share the coconuts with me. I didn't tell him, but I kind of hate coconuts.

These were actually pretty fantastic though!

I can already tell that this will be a wonderful school year. I'm going to be pushed really hard, but I'm grateful for it. God is going to teach me lots of new things, and enable me to do everything He's called me to do. I might get tired here and there, but that's okay. He'll teach me to rest.

And I'm 100% sure that He's going to be really good.

Thanks for being a part of this!

My Question for YOU!

Coconuts? Yes or no.
